Safety & Operational Excellence
Safety Is Our First Principle
At Air Indo Airlines, safety is not a department or a checklist. It is the foundation upon which every operational decision is built.
Regulatory Status: Air Indo Airlines has received its Initial NOC and Security Clearance and is awaiting the next-stage NOC and Air Operator Permit (AOP) from DGCA. The airline has not yet commenced commercial operations. All safety systems, procedures, and programmes described on this page are planned and will be implemented in full compliance with DGCA requirements prior to the commencement of operations.

Our Certification Journey
Air Indo Airlines has received its Initial NOC from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and has obtained Security Clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs — a significant milestone in our journey towards full operational certification. We are now progressing towards the next stage NOC and the Air Operator Permit (AOP) from DGCA, which will authorise us to operate aircraft commercially in India.

Safety Management System
A Structured Approach to Safety
Our planned Safety Management System (SMS) will be built in full compliance with DGCA Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR) and aligned with ICAO Annex 19 standards. The SMS is not a document — it is a living system that will govern how we identify hazards, assess risks, and continuously improve our safety performance.
Safety Policy & Objectives
A clear, unambiguous safety policy signed by the Accountable Manager, communicated to every employee, and reviewed annually.
Safety Risk Management
Systematic hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation across all operational areas — flight operations, ground handling, maintenance, and dispatch.
Safety Assurance
Continuous monitoring of safety performance through audits, safety surveys, and analysis of safety data — including voluntary safety reports from our own team.
Safety Promotion
A just culture where every team member is empowered to raise safety concerns without fear of blame, and where safety lessons are shared openly across the organisation.
Flight Operations
Standards That Exceed Requirements
Our planned flight operations will be governed by a comprehensive Operations Manual aligned to DGCA requirements and ATR's approved operating procedures. We will not cut corners on crew training, rest requirements, or weather minima.
Type-Rated Pilots
All pilots will hold valid ATR 72-600 type ratings issued by DGCA-approved training organisations, with recurrent training every six months.
Crew Resource Management
Mandatory CRM training for all flight crew, focused on communication, decision-making, and situational awareness in the cockpit.
Flight & Duty Time Limitations
Strict adherence to DGCA Flight & Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) regulations to ensure crew are always rested and alert.
Line Operations Safety Audit
Regular LOSA observations to identify latent threats and improve standard operating procedure compliance.
Weather & Dispatch Standards
Conservative weather minima and a rigorous pre-flight dispatch process — no commercial pressure will override operational safety.
FOQA Programme
Flight Operational Quality Assurance data will be analysed after every flight to identify deviations and trends before they become incidents.
Maintenance & Airworthiness
Keeping Every Aircraft Airworthy
Airworthiness is not optional. Our planned maintenance programme will be developed in accordance with ATR's Aircraft Maintenance Manual and approved by the DGCA. Every aircraft will be maintained to the highest standard — on schedule, every time.
DGCA-Approved Maintenance Programme
Our maintenance programme will be developed from ATR's approved documentation and submitted to the DGCA for approval prior to operations.
Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers
All maintenance will be performed and certified by DGCA-licensed AMEs with ATR 72-600 type endorsements.
Approved Maintenance Organisation
We will contract maintenance to DGCA-approved AMOs with proven ATR experience for heavy maintenance and component overhaul.
Continuing Airworthiness Management
A dedicated CAMO function will track airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and component life limits for every aircraft in the fleet.
Cabin Safety
Passenger Safety in the Cabin
Our cabin crew will be trained to the highest standards — not just for service, but as the first line of passenger safety. Every cabin crew member will hold a valid DGCA Cabin Crew Attestation and undergo recurrent safety training every year.
Emergency Procedures Training
Comprehensive training in aircraft evacuation, fire fighting, first aid, and emergency equipment operation.
Dangerous Goods Awareness
All cabin crew trained to IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations standards for passenger-carried items.
Security Training
Training in aviation security procedures, threat recognition, and unruly passenger management.
First Aid & Medical
Enhanced first aid training including AED operation, in-flight medical emergency management, and coordination with ground medical services.
Safety Culture
Safety Is Everyone's Responsibility
The safest airlines in the world are not safe because they have the best rules. They are safe because every single person — from the CEO to the ramp agent — genuinely believes that safety matters more than schedule, more than cost, and more than convenience.
Srinivas Chilukuri, Founder & CEO
Building a safety culture from day one is one of the most important things we will do as an airline. It is far easier to build the right culture at the start than to change a broken one later. Every hire we make, every policy we write, and every decision we take will reinforce the message: at Air Indo Airlines, safety always comes first.
